Cultural Resource Management: Assessment
Initial baseline data, rapidly provided, can be essential to identify the potential of land to contain built heritage monuments that may need to be considered during land management. We can offer a rapid assessment of any land holding to identify the scope of known built heritage sites and the current understanding of their limits.
This would be delivered as a desk-based assessment which would consult the readily available archive sources. All statutory designations will be identified as would all sites known to the National and Local SMRs. Map searches would cover pre-Ordnance Survey and historic Ordnance Survey sequences. Vertical aerial photography and a range of library sources would also be consulted. The assessment provides a reliable, quick and inexpensive means of determining the built heritage potential of a land holding.
