Standards

A core responsibility of any archaeological company is to meet the established professional standards for archaeology. Through all our works we endeavour to meet this responsibility. The affiliations of our company reflect our commitment to these standards:

Council for British Archaeology
Archaeology Scotland
Federation of Archaeological Managers & Employers

We also recognise the The Institute of Field Archaeology as the most important body for the development and support of professional standards in archaeology within the UK. To this end we are working towards our application for RAO status and, in the interim, Rathmell Archaeology requires all staff to work to their issued standards. We also encourage all staff to join the IFA and have committed to meet all financial costs related to the membership of our staff.

Health & Safety is of critical importance to us; we endorse the Construction Skills Certification Scheme as the means of evidencing the competence and awareneess of our staff. All staff are certified though the CSCS system and carry their card on-site.
