Standards

We maintain a statement of the Archaeological Standards required to be met for archaeological work undertaken within our Archaeology Service areas in support of the planning process. All individuals and organisations undertaking works to inform the planning process should be familiar with these.

Within these standards we require that archaeologists comply with the Institute of Field Archaeology guidelines. We also require all planning related archaeology to be reported through OASIS and Discovery & Excavation in Scotland.
