21st August 2009: Historic Environment Guide
The Forestry Commission Scotland have launched their publication
'Historic Environment Information & Advice for Woodland Managers in Scotland'.
This document, prepared by Rathmell Archaeology, provides details on historic environment designations, relevant legislation, national, regional and local information sources, all in the context of the policy and regulatory framework for forestry. This intiiative has prompted press coverage, including the BBC News website.
11th February 2009: BBC News cover Rothesay find
The BBC News website have reported our recovery of
a rare ceramic face-mask jug uncovered during the excavations at Rothesay.
Alan McDougall, director of Fyne Homes said: "We are all excited about the findings which have been uncovered on the site ... This excavation has given us the chance to help further our understanding of how Rothesay grew and developed."
Post-excavation analysis of the material from the excavation continues with publication expected early in 2010.
